Pet Stain/ Odor Removal

Pets are a big part of the family and, like family, they have accidents. You turn your head and the sofa and floor have that new pet stain! These stains are embarrassing enough, but pet staining often leads to the even more embarrassing pet odors in the house.

At Blue Ribbon Floor Care we foster many animals from many different troubled backgrounds, so I would like to go over this and try to give some advice from our many experiences.

First: Follow the stain tips we have here for the stain type.

Second: Training and consistency is the key. One person in the house cannot use the dog crate and then no one else does. The pet must get the same training from all in the house! This was tough at first but I soon found that if I did it as my wife (who is a vet-tech with 10 plus years) advised, the training goes much faster! She even managed to train me! (At least to follow the dog training rules.)

Third: After your pet is well-trained, get the carpets professionally cleaned. Please do not use an over-the-counter chemical or anything other than the stain tips given. Some have a carpet cleaner that they just love and it works for them – but please be sure; it might set the stain in. After all needed training is complete we can get the stains and odors out for good!

Pet Odor Removal

Pet stains are just part of the little accidents that happen. Pet odors are the most common problem that pet owners have and call for a professional cleaner to solve. If the smell remains, the pet often returns to the same spot, and it is harder to train the pet to go elsewhere. Pets that have “accidents” often can give an entire home a very unpleasant odor and can cause health issues for the entire family.

Blue Ribbon Floor Care has a variety of powerful products that are safe and effective at stopping the odors and the cause of the odors. Many have enzymes that break down the compounds of the waste and stop the odor from coming back. It is best to get the professional cleaning services to eliminate these odors before they get larger. Please do not wait until the pet is trained when it comes to odors. Stain can be treated now and professionally cleaned later when training is complete. Odors must be addressed as soon as possible—there is a problem!

Pet Odor Removal Process

Step One: Locating the Contaminated Areas

All the ares must be found, and there are often those ares that the home owner was not aware of. We use equipment that enables us to see the salt deposits that are left behind after urine has dried. It is the bacteria in the salt that gives off the smells and our equipment is able to locate the soiled areas where the eyes can not.

Step Two: Determine the Severity of the Problem

After locating the contaminated areas, we determine the severity of the contamination and choose the best route to better solve the problem permanently. Often, the carpets must be removed from the wall tack strip to inspect the tack strip, carpet backing, padding and the sub-flooring to better understand the severity of the problem. This is most often when the customer gets a real understanding as to what needs to be done to stop the smell!

Step Three: Treating the Problem As a Whole

The contaminated area must be cleaned and disinfectant applied to all contaminated areas with a powerful contact Odor and Stain Remover. Tack strips and padding are replaced as needed in more severe cases. The carpets backing and sub-flooring are treated with an odor barrier and all is replaced back as it was. The carpet is then cleaned and treated with a specially formulated molecular modifying enzyme. This multi-step process helps to insure that the problem is corrected and not just masked for awhile.
